Jody Stevenson is a graduate of University of Maine in Orono, holding a Master’s in Social Work, a Bachelor’s in Social Work and Associate's degree in Legal Technology. She is also a Graduate of University of Notre Dame's Grant Proposal Writing Program. Prior to becoming a Grant Writer, Jody worked in the Health and Human Services Field for more than two decades, with a focus on children and families, homelessness, foster care, and mental health. Jody transitioned from direct care to serve as a Senior Management Team Member for Community Care, a non-profit mental health agency in Bangor, Maine, where she worked for 28 years. The last decade of her employment was focused on development including grant writing, writing proposals in response to funding opportunity announcements, grant management, program development, and providing training to new supervisors to strengthen their supervisory skills.
Having developed a fierce passion for grant proposal writing,, Jody became a grant reviewer for the Federal Government in addition to various foundations., serving as an essential learning ground to strengthen her writing skills, to create a forum for continuing to build upon collaborative relationships in the field of philanthropy, and to continue to learn the requirements of various funders.
Throughout the past decade as a proposal writer, Jody has secured millions of dollars in Federal, State and Foundation level grant funds, and has submitted dozens of winning proposals in response to Federal Funding Opportunity Announcements and state-level Request for Proposals. Jody is now a Freelance Proposal Writer and able to support a wide variety of organizations, schools, and townships in securing funds to conduct their excellent work. As a result of the ability of services to be provided remotely, Jody can support organizations across the entire span of the U.S.
